NAPOLI (Naples) Napoli is the capital of the region Calabria.In 1400 Neaples was one of the most important European capital thanks to its intellectual vivacity. Centola extends approximately for 10 kilometers of coast. The most famous part of Centola is Capo Palinuro. In summer, from end of July to the beginning of August, in the port of Palinuro there is a music festival, in an evocative choreography of the landscape. The origins of Caserta are still uncertain: someone believes that it was founded by the Sanniti, someone else by the Romans. The most diffused hypothesis says that the Longobardi di Capua conquered it in the XIII century. In the Middle Ages, the city was dominated by Capua. But it is only in 1800, when the Royal Palace was completed, that Caserta assumed a particular importance. The Borbonese Palace of Caserta (listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site) was created in the 18th century by the Italian architect Luigi Vanvitelli as a Versailles-like residence ("Reggia") for the Bourbon kings of Naples and Sicily. It is one of the most visited monuments in the country. Inside the Reggia there are more than 1200 rooms, decorated in various styles. The park is 3 km long and contains many waterfalls, lakes and gardens, as well as a very famous English gardens.
